I just realized I never actually posted here a story I did for Remix_Madness in 2012. So, here goes!

Disclaimer: I don’t own the characters. Joss Whedon owns the characters. Please don’t sue me, I did this strictly for the fun of it.

Finally, the remix for the author I was originally assigned at buffy-remix!

“Made to Be Broken” )

[livejournal.com profile] aadler and I both entered [livejournal.com profile] deird1’s buffy-remix, and both found ourselves hung up. I wasn’t really satisfied with my story; he wasn’t finished with his (because it turned out to be longer than he had expected). So, being family, we did a temporary trade-off: I turned out a quick pinch-hit for his assigned author ([livejournal.com profile] nothorse), and he did the same for me with mine (LookingForOctober). As soon as we’re done/satisfied, we’ll each post our own stories, and each of our authors will have two remixes by way of apology. So, my pinch-hit:

Title: I Kissed a Girl (the Scientific Method Remix)
Pairing: Various tentative
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 2,458
Warnings: only what the title tells you
Original Story:Practice Makes Perfect” by [livejournal.com profile] nothorse

This is likely to be the only non-AU (well, the only not OUTRIGHT AU) non-crossover Hunger Games story I write, but I had it pop into my head from one sentence when I was re-reading Mockingjay for the … somethingth time.

DISCLAIMER: Doesn’t belong to me, please don’t sue.

“Even Puppets Cry”

Everyone’s a puppet of the Capital, even if they won’t admit it. Everyone has strings that are being pulled by someone. And even puppets can cry. )

Round 2 of the Circle of Friends Remix is now open for reading at [livejournal.com profile] cof_remix.

Disclaimer: Please don’t sue me. I only have pocket lint. Characters either belong to Joss Whedon or J.K. Rowling. I don’t own them.

The original story is “In Truth, Beauty” by Kathryn Andersen.

Hi, guys! Could everyone do me a favour? It won't take long. Just go to this site: http://cluster.gishwhes2012.com/pledge.php
and sign up to do a random act of kindness. Here's the important part: when you do, it'll ask the email address of the person that referred you. PLEASE put mine: singingal101@gmail.com because it's for GISHWHES scavenger hunt. And who doesn't like doing nice things for people?

In other news, my story for Circle of Friends is going well. Sat down and got a couple thousand words out today.

Back to the first news: PLEASE help me out? I wanna go to Scotland! :D

I'm still alive. Getting used to Ireland. Ireland is awesome. Fiance's little sister passed what we're calling The Plague onto both of us, so we've been coughing like crazy. Also, it turns out that Acetaminophen is called Paracetamol over here, so I took some not realizing that I'm ALLERGIC TO IT. Spent the next three hours puking.

Anybody know why it's called something else everywhere in the world NOT the States and Canada? Because I can't find that one out.

Anyway. I'm alive. It's one thirty in the morning, so I'm going to sleep.

Birfday!

It's my birthday! Yay! I have Strep Throat. Not yay. Very emphatically not yay.

I read the "Hunger Games" trilogy, and fell in love with it. I've heard people say that it's a weak ripoff of Battle Royale, so I'm reading the Manga (which apparently goes deeper into the characters than the original novel did) and so far, I'm really not impressed, though there has been one funny excerpt.

Um... not sure what else to say, so ending this here.

Basically, it's an opinion you have that you think a lot of people would disagree with you on. (Or more, if you want. This is just my biggy.)

1) Romeo and Juliet is a comedy. Seriously. Read the darn play. It's not a tragedy. It's hilarious as hell, up until they die. So, a dark comedy. But still a comedy. (As my dad put it, "This couple that everyone looks to as one of the most romantic couples ever? They were dead before their third date.")

2) Edward and Bella is a good example of an abusive relationship. He's controlling, he goes against what she wants all the time, he makes decisions for her, etc. He is borderline emotionally abusive. And Bella is dangerously co-dependent on him. My boyfriend breaks up with me, I spend a week eating brownies and ice cream, and then I move the hell on. Her boyfriend leaves her, and she spends MONTHS barely existing. Get over it, and make little furry babies with Jacob. (Not even TOUCHING the Nessie thing.)

That is all.

MAJORBIGTIME EDIT! I really need to give credit to [livejournal.com profile] deird1 and her story, “Towels” for this. And a huge apology for not crediting it before. I wasn’t intentionally stealing, and it’s not that I forgot to give credit; I forgot that I’d read this story. It wasn’t until I was talking to my dad and he told me that I needed to credit this story for inspiration that I remembered “Towels”. I’ve been thinking of a roommate war told in notes for a while, and now I know why. So edits to the story have happened, in order to further separate it from “Towels”. (Accidental plagiarism was accidental, and I truly apologize.)

Impulse Control )

And now I qualify in Glee for RemixRedux. Assuming, of course, that Glee is a qualifier fandom.

sroni: (Singing Gal)
One of my best friends, who I consider a sister, had her baby today. I have been announced to be an aunt. :D

After being at the hospital for eighteen hours, I’m exhausted. And I know I’m not as tired as the new mommy is.
sroni: (Singing Gal)
To answer the unasked questions: I’m writing Glee drabbles because Remix Redux is coming up, and I’d like to qualify in another fandom (I do qualify in Firefly and Veronica Mars at this point, but I’d like to qualify in as many as possible), so I’m writing some Glee.

This one’s about Sue, and I know that my version of Sue is probably drastically different from most people’s. And I defintely think she should be on meds, because she’s seriously crazy.

Track Suit Lies )

sroni: (Singing Gal)
This is a Glee drabble. I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so I just ask that if it’s not something you’re interested in, you not read.

Kurt is one of my favourite characters. I don’t always agree with him, but I always see where he’s coming from with it. This drabble is a result of talking about Kurt with my fiancé. So, yes, this is my interpretation of Kurt, but it’s an interpretation based completely off of the canon I’ve seen so far (I’m a little less than halfway through Season 2).

Glee

I've seriously gotten into Glee. I just started watching it, and I'm almost at the end of the first season. And it's probably sad that I totally have ideas for Veronica Mars crossover with Glee, and for a few Buffy crossovers.

My favourite characters are Kurt and Artie. I don't always agree or like what they do or say, but I can always understand where they're coming from with it. And I love, love, love, love, LOVE! Kurt and his dad's relationship.

Chris Colfer singing "Defying Gravity" has become my most watched Youtube video.
