Okay. So Aadler and I were talking the other day about minor Buffy characters that we like, and I mentioned Graham Miller. And he talked about one of his favorite Graham stories, and I was nodding along because I read it and loved it.

The problem is, neither of us can think of the story’s name or who wrote it.

I’ve looked through the people that I can think of that we’re both likely to have read. I know that I re-read it recently.

So now is where I ask for help.

The basic summary is, it’s “As You Were”, the episode in Season Six when Riley comes back. It’s written from Graham’s point of view, as he’s listening to Sam try to figure out how to deal with Buffy and her friends, and poor Sam is freaking out. At the end of it, she tells Graham that he’s a sweetheart and makes an offhand comment about wishing she had a sister to hook him up with, and the look he gives her says that if she did, it would be the wrong sister. Or maybe he actually says so, I don’t know.

And both decide to never talk about it ever again.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else, and if so, do you happen to know who wrote it?
