Snowflake Challenge, Day 1

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you’ve created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Drop a link to your post in the comments.

Like my dad, I’ll be using his categories. Unlike my dad, I will list remixes, but I’ll limit myself to only one. Mostly because in my opinion, my three best stories are remixes. I want to spread the self-love around a bit.

Favorite fic
This one is a no-brainer for me. “A Light in the Darkness (The Wish I Were a Hero Remix)”. Damn, I love that story. Everything was done right. I can’t think of a single thing I would change to make it better. It was short. It was really short, and in my opinion, that’s the only reason it doesn’t start to give Aadler’s “Otherwise a Perfect Sky” a run for its money (coincedentally, also a remix, and the best damn story I’ve ever read). It’s also my most recieved story, with seven kudos and quite a few comments. Unfortunately, none of those comments are from people who actually know my writing. Probably because I haven’t put it up on livejournal yet, and it’s only on Archive of Our Own … I’ll post it up as soon as I’m done with Day 1 and Day 2, ’kay?

Least-recognized fic
I think that most of my stories aren’t particularly recognized. I think part of it is that livejournal is basically the only place I post things, and most of the people on my f-list are people who’ve read my dad and found me that way. Which means that most of my stories are going to be compared to his. I guess “Rain and Disillusion” holds this one. Part of it is that Veronica Mars was a fairly small fandom to begin with. Add to it that I didn’t find it until four years after it was off the air. Even so, I do think it was one of my better stories, and I wish it had recieved more comments than it did.

Most representative fic
The fic that’s most representative of my personality or me as a writer? I’m going to go with my personality. Probably “Words Unspoken”, one of my few Firefly fics. Jayne freaking out, and Kaylee being simply Kaylee. Both of those things are things that I relate to quite well.
