Okay, I talked to my best friend today, and while he is still rebounding from his girlfriend, we had a good talk. And I have a date to my parents wedding.

So, okay, I'm not excited that I have a date for December. (Actually, that I have to wait until December sucks.) And it might not happen, due to when he can get shore leave. But... the fact that I have a date with him? Makes me bloody ecstatic. (And yes, the word date was mentioned. As in, "Hey, you want to be my date?" "Of course. If I'm home." "No, I demand that you tell your superior officers that you have to leave early, you have a hot date." "Well, it would be a hot date, but...")

*bounces* The sky is blue. The grass is green. I'll get to see my best friend in June. Only thirty days until June 8.

I've already decided: unless his most recent exgirlfriend comes on the scene again, five dollars says that he and I will be dating by January 1.

Yup. Navy. He's signed up (like all Navy guys) for four years, and he's already planning on signing up for more. What can I say? I have a thing for guys in military. I respect them a lot.
